Johan Glidden is a folk-pop Christian singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. In an era when “Christian music” usually means radio worship music, Johan’s offering is more like a lively after-church coffee chat on the back porch. He writes songs of praise (and lament), stories about friendship with God and people, and reflections on what real life looks like when you believe that everything is grace. Exploring the mysterious connection between the supernatural and the…super-natural, his songs combine incisive lyrics with catchy pop melodies, creating a chair for a listener’s soul to lean back in. 

Johan performs solo in auditoriums, churches, living rooms, and anywhere there’s a microphone and an invitation to a late night after-show Waffle House excursion. A frequent collaborator with other musicians, he’s been fortunate to share the stage with many of his personal favorite songwriters, including recent tours and an appearance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville with Andrew Peterson.

His concerts feature not only great songs, but also intimate hospitality, humor, and time enjoyed together as little children of God. Expect to be drawn in closer by each song — into nostalgia, humility, and hope. Expect to join him in singing an old hymn or two along with a Rich Mullins chorus you haven’t heard in a while. Expect to go home talking to God, with a new melody stuck in your head, having made a good friend.

Johan has received multiple accolades, including a nod from American Songwriter, who added Double Yellow Lines to their list of “Songs That We Absolutely Love" in 2023. 

His forthcoming album, Sweet Little Drop in a Bucket, is a collection of 11 folk-pop songs recorded in Nashville with producer Asher Peterson (Colony House, Fielder, Skye Peterson), and mixed by 3-time-Grammy-winner Sean Moffitt (Ben Rector, Cece Winans, Miranda Lambert). It features drums by Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Harry Styles), beautiful strings by Hannah Sorrells Tyler (For King and Country), and studio work from many other virtuosic musicians. The album is an invitation to embrace limitation in a culture of unlimited options, to lean on friends in an era of disconnection, and to trust a loving and powerful God in a world of algorithms. It will be released in October 2026.
